Children's Dental Emergencies in Ahwatukee & Phoenix
Chipped a tooth on the playground? Woke up with a swollen cheek? Call our office and tell us what happened. Our board certified pediatric dentists treat children, teens and kids with special healthcare needs, and we will get your child comfortable and seen as quickly as we can.
Toothache and pain relief
Ongoing tooth pain usually means something needs attention. We find the cause and treat it, rather than sending you home with a temporary fix.
Broken or cracked teeth
Chips and cracks from falls, sports and bike spills. Bring any pieces you find, and we will repair or protect the tooth.
Dental trauma
A knocked-out or pushed-in tooth is urgent. Call right away, because for a knocked-out permanent tooth the first hour matters most.
Infection or abscess
Swelling of the gum, face or jaw needs to be seen promptly. Call us the same day so we can check it.
What to do right now
- βKnocked-out permanent tooth: pick it up by the crown, never the root. Rinse gently with milk or water, place it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in milk. Call us immediately.
- βKnocked-out baby tooth: do not put it back in. Call us and we will advise.
- βChipped or broken tooth: rinse the mouth with warm water, save any pieces, and use a cold compress for swelling.
- βToothache: rinse with warm water and gently floss either side of the tooth to clear trapped food. Never place aspirin against the gum.
- βSwelling, fever or trouble breathing or swallowing: this is a medical emergency. Go to the nearest emergency room.

βThe staff is always so nice, friendly and on time β always appreciated when bringing in my 4 kids to get their teeth cleaned. I recently took my daughter in to have two teeth pulled. Dr. Lout explained everything and it went so well. She said she didn't feel any pain and we were in and out in no time.β
βThis pediatric dental office far exceeded my expectations. The staff is amazing in every way β courteous, kind, patient, and professional. I love how they taught my kids about their teeth as they cleaned them. My kids love this office!β
βEven though we've been here a handful of times, I'm very impressed by the dentist and his knowledge. The staff is helpful and friendly. I feel safe and well informed. Grateful to be seen right on time. Kids are comfortable and happy.β
